Resort owners adapt new trends to woo tourists to Kodagu

Kushalnagar, Karnataka, Nov 17 (UNI) With homestays concept becoming popular among tourists visiting Kodagu distict, the farm owners too are not behind in coming up with holiday homes with such new concepts for exploiting the opportunities in tourism sector in this region.

The trend is to develop the resorts with a stress on providing family atmosphere with making the tourists familier to the local culture during their short stays at the holiday homes.

Parumpara is one such resort that has become popular among the tourists for its unique blend of adventure and culture with a concept of homestays set up at Kushalangar.

Parumpara Resorts Groups Managing Director R K Bhatt told reporters that the project is in its first phase, being developed in an area of seven acres of land.

The new concept needs to be popularised among the developers of resorts and in this the Group itself has tied up with various resort groups in the region to provide the tourists memorable stays with Kodagu style of hospitality.

The resort consisted of conventional adventure play park with rope ladders, rope bridges, climbing walls, Tarzan swings, safety nets and tree houses for both children and adults located in the coconut grove ambience.

This is the first of its kind in the state coming up with a mixture of Homestays concept with lots of entertainment provided by in-house local artistes with live singing and dancing around bonafire in the evening, he said.

The accommodations contists of spacious cottages and canvas tents.
