Mamata meets Governor; demands dismissal of Left Front govt

Kolkata, Nov 17: Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee today called on Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi and demanded immediate dismissal of the Left Front Government in West Bengal.

Talking to newsmen here after meeting Mr Gandhi, Ms Banerjee said " I have taken up the Nandigram issue with the Governor with a demand of dismissing the government. " She was accompanied with several of her party leaders.

Earlier, Ms Banerjee called upon secular and democratic forces to come together to form an anti-CPI (M) front and also welcomed the non-Left partners within the Left Front.

Declaring that she would continue her movement for removal of the Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee Government, she said her party would hit the streets demanding the dismissal of the government.

" The state Government has no moral, constitutional and political right to continue in power. This Government should be immediately sacked to protect democracy, " she said.
