Lady shot dead, another injured in Chhath puja

Khagaria, Nov 17 (UNI) Armed miscreants shot dead a lady and injured another when they were performing Chhath puja rituals at Mathar Ghat under Mufassil police station in the district today.

Police Superintendent Vineet Vinayak said Rubi Devi and Samtola Devi were paying obeisance to the Sun god when six armed miscreants fired upon them.

While Rubi Devi died on the spot, Samtola Devi sustained severe injuries.

The injured was rushed to the local hospital and later referred to PMCH in Patna for better treatment, Mr Vinayak added.

The reason behind the attack was land dispute, Mr Vinayak added.
