Kidnapped girl rescued from Bihari migrants

Sangrur, Nov 17 (UNI) Police today rescued a five-year-old girl from the captivity of two Bihari migrants who had kidnapped the her from Dhuri town of the district for a ransom of Rs 50,000.

Vijay and Manoj had kidnapped their landlord's daughter Varsha (5) from outside her school in Dhuri. They later called up her mother Raj Kumari and demanded a ransom of Rs 50,000 to release the kidnapped girl, Sangrur SP Gurdip Singh Pannu said.

Varsha's mother informed the police. The police arrested the duo near Patiala bypass in Sangrur where they had called the parents of the girl to deliver the ransom. Later, the girl was rescued from a nearby abandoned factory.

A case was registered against the two kidnappers under Section 363 A and 364 A, Dhuri DSP Swaran Singh said.
