IOA recognises Chautala-led Haryana Olympic Association

Chandigarh , Nov 17 (UNI) The Indian Olympic Association has unanimously recognised and declared the Haryana Olympic Association, headed by Abhey Singh Chautala as legal.

The verdict was adopted and passed unanimously by the IOA in its executive as well as annual general body meeting held at the Olympic Bhawan in New Delhi yesterday.

The House also decided to appoint a committee comprising Mr.

Digvijay Singh, Mr R.K. Anand, Mr Jagdish Tytler and Mr K.P. Singh Deo to meet Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and apprise him of the constitutional position of the IOA.

The House further resolved that all the National Sports Federations and Associations would allow only those players in their meets who were affiliated to Haryana Olympic Association headed by Mr Abhey Singh Chautala.

Mr Abhey Singh Chautala, HOA Secretary General Dr. M.S. Malik, and HOA Joint Secretary and Director, Mr H S Bhadu, attended the meeting of the IOA Annual General Body meeting in New Delhi yesterday.

Meanwhile, HOA president 'Khel Rattan' Abhey Singh Chautala has conveyed his deep gratitude and sincere thanks to the Indian Olympic Association president, Mr Suresh Kalmadi, the Secretary General, Mr Randhir Singh and all colleagues and members of the IOA family for extending their whole hearted support.

Mr HS Bhadu said that the HOA would soon select its contingent and hold coaching camps to prepare them for the Jharkhand National Games.

Meanwhile, it was also decided that the dates of the National Games, likely to be conducted in middle of March next year at Ranchi, would be finalised after IOA president Suresh Kalmadi visits the Jharkhand capital to review the arrangements with the organising committee of the 34th National Games.

India would be hosting the Youth Commonwealth Games in Pune in October next year and 2008 Beijing Olympics in December.
