Interactive awareness sessions highlight of VAW in SAIL

New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) The five-day Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) at the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) ended with interactive sessions organised with customers on 'Market Support Services' at different plant locations of the country.

According to a SAIL release issued here today, similar sessions with vendors, contractors and suppliers were also held at the various SAIL plants.

The theme of this year's Vigilance Awareness Week was 'Efficiency and Transparency in Customer-Oriented Programmes.' The state owned PSU also held awareness sessions on the RTI Act and purchase&contract procedures in its different units.

Various contests on elocution, essay and quiz as well as thematic skits were organised with active involvement of the employees and their family members.

The programmes were organised by the company's Vigilance Department under the guidance of SAIL's Chief Vigilance Officer Venugopal K Nair.

During the closing function at Ispat Bhavan, Chairman, SAIL, S K Roongta, released, the Vigilance Department's new journal 'Inspiration' which aims to help in spreading awareness on vigilance-related matters.

He also gave away prizes to the award winners of the various competitions.
