Indian Telly Awards announced

Mumbai, Nov 16 (UNI) English news channel CNN-IBN bagged the Best News Channel(English) award while Aaj Tak won the Best Hindi News Channel award at the 7th Indian Telly Awards held here tonight.

Bharkha Dutt (NDTV) was choosen as the Best News Anchor while Bollywod actor Shahrukh Khan was given the Best Anchor trophy for KBC3.

Television Personality of the Year award was taken by Rakhi Sawant. Ronnie Screwvala, CEO of UTV, received trophy for his contribution to the Indian television while Sidhartha and Anita Kaul Basu of Synergy Adlabs, makers of KBC, received the Hall of Fame Award.

Best Daily Serial award went to Banno Mein Teri Dulhan. Best Production House award went to Balaji Telefilms. Ugraya Entertainment, which produces daily soap Viruddh, received the award for the Best Ensemble Cast.

Best Actor Female Popular award went to Prachi Desai form Ksam Se and Best Actor Male Popular award went to Ram Kapoor form the same serial.

The Best Actor Female Critics award went to Smriti Irani for Viruddh and the Best Actor Male Critics award went to Sharad Malhotra for Banno Mein Teri Dulhan.
