Ellora, Ajanta festival on Nov 23

Mumbai, Nov 17: The four-day Ellora-Ajanta festival will commence at the historic 17th century Soneri Mahal in the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University campus at Aurangabad from November 23.

Tourism Minister Vijaysinh Mohite Patil told reporters that the major attractions this year would be performances by well-known Ghazal singer Ghulam Ali and renowned sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan on November 23 and 24 respectively.

He said Kalagram -- a platfom created for the artisans and craftsmen of the region is an added attraction, as local artistes will perform on the stage everyday throughout the festival.

Abhijit Pohankar will present a musical fusion titled ''Incredible India''. Also Arti Anklikar Tikekar, Shaunak Abhisheki, flutist Rakesh Chaurasia, tabla maestro Vijay Ghate classical danseuse Sharvari Jamenis, vocalist Prabhakar Karekar, French national and Bharat Natyam exponent Devyani and others will perform during these days.
