Former Union Minister Sanjay Paswan joins LJP

Patna, Nov 17 (UNI) Former Union Minister Sanjay Paswan and several of his followers today joined the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) in presence of LJP chief and Steel, Chemical and Fertiliser Minister Ram Vilas Paswan setting at rest month-long speculation.

A former BJP leader and Union Minister in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cabinet, Dr Paswan later joined the Congress protesting the Gujarat violence.

Apart from Dr Paswan, prominent among those who joined the LJP included Samajwadi Party leaders Asif Ali and Virendra Kumar Paswan.

Welcoming the new entrants, LJP supermo Ram Vilas Paswan said their joining would strengthen the party.

He said former JD (U) MP Arun Kumar and a former Minister of Bihar Naval Kishore Shahi would also join the party with their supporters tomorrow.
