Fire in HP factory gutters Rs 40 lakh property

Una, Nov 17 (UNI) Property estimated to be over Rs 40 lakh was reduced to ashes in a devastating fire in a factory in Mehatpur industrial area of Una district in Himachal Pradesh today, fire officials and police said.

Though no loss of life was reported in the fire, which was allegedly caused due to a short circuit in Punjab Laminate Private Limited.

They said fire was first noticed by an employee of the factory who raised an alarm and by the time fire personnel arrived, the workers and the management employees had brought it under control.

A case has been registered and investigations are on to arrive at the exact cause of the fire, police said.
