Factory under construction gutted in HP

Solan, Nov 17 (UNI) An under construction factory was gutted in a devastating fire at Barotiwala in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh, a fire official said today.

The fire broke out in the manufacturing unit of Johnson and Johnson, which had been providing a temporary electricity connection from recently, at Barotiwala, about 60 km from here this morning.

An estimated loss of Rs 20 lakh has occurred, fire officer Dalep Thapa told UNI here.

He said the fire personnel brought the fire under control after about two hours.

Meanwhile, police said short circuit was probably the cause of the fire, which was being investigated.

A case has been registered and investigations are on, they added.
