BJP seeks CBI probe into PDS rice smuggling

Puducherry, Nov 17 (UNI) The Puducherry unit of the BJP today demanded a CBI probe into the alleged smuggling of ration rice from the Union Territory.

Speaking at a press conference here, BJP state unit president M Visweswaran condemned the administration for ''diverting'' the funds from the Special Component Plan (SCP) meant for the development of the Adi Dravidar people to the welfare of the Dalits.

Taking a dig at the law and order situation in the Union Territory he said that the leader of a political party had recently kidnapped a police constable following seizure of his rectified spirit.
