Chennai, Nov 17: AREVA T&D India has won the Technology (Process) Adaptation, Upgradation, Efficiency and Innovation Award for the year 2006-07 in Transmission and Distribution category for design, installation and commissioning country's first 765 KV SF6 EHV circuit breaker.

The product has been deployed for the first time in India for the NTPC-Super Thermal Power Sub-station at Sipat, Chhattisgarh, a company release here said today.

The 765 KV circuit breakers were manufactured and system-integrated at AREVA T&D's Chennai manufacturing facility.

This product, well aligned to the emerging EHV Transmission network of 765 KV, especially meets future infrastructure and power sector demands in India, the release added.
