Stern action against unfair means in UP Board exam: Mishra

Mirzapur, Nov 16 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Education Minister Rangnath Mishra today warned of ''sternf'' action against the students and teachers found employing dishonest means during the UP Board examinations, saying they would be sent to jail.

''The schools falling under the black list ought not be made examination centres. If any such case comes to light, the concerned invigilator, examination centre superintendent, district inspector of schools, joint education director would be sent to jail,'' Mr Mishra told reporters here late last night.

Besides, stringent action would also be taken against the guilty students, he said.

The minister, however, accepted that the education system was plagued by the network of ''cheating mafias''and even some education department officials were hand-in-glove in the illicit business.

Mr Mishra said he would led a special team to inspect all the examination centres and those found guilty of irregularities would be severely dealt with.
