Hyderabad, Nov 16 (UNI) The tenth Mumbai International Film Festival for Documentary, Short and Animation Films (MIFF 2008) will be held at the National Centre for Performing Arts in Mumbai from February three to nine.
Addressing a press conference here today, Festival Director and Film Division Chief Producer Kuldeep Sinha said about 270 films from 37 countries would be screened during the week-long film festival.
About 550 films, including documentary and animation films, from India would also be screened and 28 awards in different categories would be given away to the best films.
Stating that about 5,000 delegates were expected to take part in the festival, he said films, which received awards at various international film festivals worldwide this year, would be screened along with Oscar winning and nominated films.
Mr Sinha said the state government should take action against the management of cinemas, which were not screening the documentaries approved by the Film Development Corporations.
