Kolkata, Nov 16 (UNI) Denying the complaint of West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal today said there was no delay on the part of the Centre in sending CRPF for the strife-torn Nandigram.

'' There was no delay. When we get such requests, many reports have to be studied,'' he said in reply to a question by reporters on the sidelines of a programme.

Mr Jaiswal, however, said he did not know what the Chief Minister had said hoping the state Government would be able to bring the Nandigram situation under control.

Disowning any failure in tackling the turf war in Nandigram last week, Mr Bhattacharjee said on November 13 that the situation could have been avoided, had the Central forces arrived in time.

The Chief Minister said he had written to the Union Home Minister on October 27 seeking CRPF to be despatched, but the force finally arrived only on November 12, a day after the Opposition-sponsored statewide bandh.
