Haryana to observe Quami Ekta Week from Nov 19

Chandigarh, Nov 16 (UNI) The Haryana government has decided to observe 'Quami Ekta Week' from November 19 to 25 to foster the spirit of patriotism and national integration among the people.

An official spokesman said the state government had also decided that the pledge taking ceremony for the Government officers and officials working in Haryana Civil Secretariat and New Secretariat buildings at Chandigarh would be held at 1100 hrs on November 19.

He said the pledge would be administered by Haryana Chief Secretary Promilla Issar.

The spokesman said that all the officers and officials working in the Main Secretariat building and New Secretariat building at Chandigarh had been directed to make it convenient to attend the pledge taking ceremony.

He said that during the week, special functions, seminars and rallies would be organised highlighting secularism, linguistic harmony, welfare programmes for scheduled castes and weaker sections, cultural integration, role of women in nation building and awareness to conserve the environment in the state.
