Governor condemned murder of woman official
Imphal, Nov 16 (UNI) Manipur Governor S S Sidhu today condemned the killing of a woman official by a militant at Moirang on Wednesday last.
Dr Sidhu, in a press statement, has expressed anguish over the dastardly act of the militants for killing Saikhom Rasheswari, an officer of the Social Welfare department in her office.
He urged the state government to take up swift and effective action against the militants.
Social Welfare Minister N Loken and State Women Commission chairperson Ch Jamini also condemned the killing.
The Kangleipak Communist Party had claimed responsibility for the murder of the lady officer, who refused to comply with her decisions to defer the announcement of appointments done by the department.
