Crime Branch starts investigation against Jaswant Singh

Barmer, Nov 16 (UNI) The crime branch of the Rajasthan Police today started investigation into the alleged violation of NDPS Act by senior BJP leader Jaswant Singh at his native village.

A team of police offcials led by Police superintendent CID(CB) Praful Kumar today recorded statements of the police constables posted at the residence of Mr singh at his native place at Jasol on Oct 31 during the ocassion. Mr Singh had allegedly served opium at a traditional reception hosted by him to his guests, including senior ministers and BJP leaders.

An FIR was lodged against Mr Singh and other leaders on the direction of a special NDPS court on a complaint in this regard by one OP Vishnoi of Jodhpur. The leaders who allegedly tasted the opium included Rajasthan Education Minister Ghan Shyam Tiwari, Social Welfare minister Maan Dilawar, Industries Minister Narpat Singh Rajvi, BJP chief whip Mahaveer Prasad Jain, BJP national vice president Kailash Meghwal MP, former state BJP presidents Lalit Kishore Chaturvedi MP, Raghuveer Singh Kaushal MP among others.
