MSP issue: Farmers to organise rail roko stir in TN

Tiruchirapalli, Nov 14 (UNI) The farmers of Cauvery Delta region will resort to a rail roko stir here and other places in the delta region on November 27, to urge the Centre to fix the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for paddy at Rs 1,000 per quintal.

A resolution to this effect was adopted at a meeting of various farmers associations here, Tamilaga Viavasayegal Sangam state secretary Raja Chidambaram told mediapersons.

The meeting urged the Tamil Nadu Government to disburse Rs 300 crore due to cane growers for supplying the produce to sguar factories in the state.
