Burglars loot Rs 50 lakh worth jewels from coop bank

Mandya, Karnataka, Nov 14 (UNI) Burglars made away with gold ornaments worth about Rs 50 lakh from the Karnataka State Industrial Cooperative Bank's branch in this town today.

Police said the burglars gained entry into the bank by cutting open the window grill. The cash in the safe, however, remained intact. The culprits committed the crime after policemen on night beat had punched the e-card instrument installed in front of the bank.

Forensic experts inspected the bank premises.
