BJP's demand for imposition of President's rule in HP unreasonable
Shimla, Nov 14 (UNI) Terming the BJP's demand for imposition of President's rule in Himachal Pradesh as ''unreasonable', Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) today said there is no logic in this demand of the opposition.
Former Chief Minister P K Dhumal's statement demanding imposition of President's rule in the state was absolutely ''unreasonable'' because there were no circumstances that warranted central rule, party State General secretary and Spokesman Kuldeep Singh Rathore said at a press conference here.
''If anywhere President's rule is to be imposed, it should be imposed in the state of Gujarat. A recent expose by a private news channel on the Gujarat riots of 2002 and Chief Minister Narender Modi's role warrants central rule'', he said.
He said that the Election Commission should take stringent action against those BJP members who were violating the model code of conduct in the state.
