Two smugglers held, timber worth lakhs seized in Kashmir
Srinagar, Nov 13 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Police today claimed to have arrested two timber smugglers and seized illicit timber worth lakhs of rupees from their possession in Kupwara district.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Handwara Haseeb Mughal said police received information about smuggling of illicit timber from Baderkal forests in Handwara area of Kupwara district by two smugglers, Ghulam Mohi-ud-sin Bhat and Abdul Rashid Dar.
A police team immediately rushed to the spot and seized about 100 cu ft illicit timber of Deodar and Kail worth lakhs of rupees.
He said a case has been registered in this regard.
