Khanduri government increases Residential grant to war widows

Dehradun, Nov 13 (UNI) The Uttarakhand government has increased the stipend given to war widows and disabled ex soldiers in the form of residential grant to Rs 25,000, from the existing Rs 5,000.

Gen.(Retd) Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri, in an official statement today said that considering the inflation, the existing amount of Rs 5,000 was not sufficient for construction of a house so it has been decided by the Chief Minister to increase the amount immediately.
