Kalia hails decision to give relief in power tariff

Chandigarh, Nov 13 (UNI) Punjab Local Government and Industry Minister Manoranjan Kalia today hailed the historic decision of giving relief in power tariff by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

With this decision the SAD-BJP alliance would emerge stronger to take Punjab to the pinnacle of development and glory, he said.

The Chief Minister had yesterday announced the State Government would bear the burden of increase in power tariff imposed by the State Electricity Regulatory Authority on consumers.

Mr Kalia said that this farsighted decision of the Chief Minister, fulfilling the demand of workers of both the parties, would benefit every citizen of the state.

He said the State Government was committed to provide 24 hours power supply to every consumer and for this every effort would be made to strengthen the Punjab State Electricity Board.

Lambasting the Congress for its "mischievous" propaganda, Mr Kalia said that this decision had proved that SAD-BJP would continue to work unitedly for the betterment of people of Punjab.
