Jamnagar ex-civic chief likely to contest from Dhrol-Jodiya
Jamnagar, Nov 13 (UNI) The Jamnagar Municipal Commissioner B H Ghodasara has joined the BJP, after resigning from his post, to contest the forthcoming Gujarat assembly elections.
His resignation was accepted by the state government today.
Mr Ghodasara, after 30 years of government service, resigned yesterday with two-and-half years service still remaining. As a BJP candidate, he is likely to be given the Dhrol-Jodiya constituency seat, official sources said.
''I have no political ambition. I am entering politics only to serve the people,'' Mr Ghodasara said after announcing his resignation.
Mr Ghodasara, bearing a clean image, was municipal commissioner of Rajkot before he took over his assignment here hardly a month ago on October 15. He had also served as collector of Porbandar and Sabarkantha.
