High Court restrains police from arresting son of TNCC Prez
Chennai, Nov 13 (UNI) The Madras High Court today restrained the City Police from arresting Dr M K Vishnu Prasad, MLA and son of TNCC President M Krishnasamy, for two weeks in connection with the November 11 stabbing of Tamil Nadu Youth Congress President Mayura S Jayakumar at the party headquarters here.
When the anticipatory bail petition filed by Dr Vishnu, who apprehended arrest in the case, came up for hearing before Justice Suthanthiram, Public Prosecutor Kumanan submitted that the investigations were at a preliminary stage and only two accused were arrested so far.
He said most of the accused persons were yet to be arrested and that the injured, including Mr Jayakumar, were still getting treatment in the hospital.
Accepting the submissions, the Judge told the prosecution not to arrest Dr Vishnu for two weeks and adjourned the matter.
The Judge, however, said police could interrogate Dr Vishnu and record his statements.
