Denial of education loan: Chidambaram promises action

Coimbatore, Nov 13 (UNI) Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram today asked the students, who are denied education loans by nationalised banks, to write to him with all the details so that he could take action against the erring bank officials.

When reporters brought to his notice that there were many complaints from students that they were asked collateral when they approached for education loan, he asked the details of the student's name and bank name. The students could bring the issues to his notice individually, so that it would be easy for him to take action.

Later, a lecturer of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), where the Minister delivered the convocation address, said a number of students from the varsity were denied education loans and paraded before the media.

UNI
