CM assures CII to take up works on airport connectivity

Bangalore, Nov 13 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today assured a delegation of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to take up the works on connectivity to new Bangalore International Airport, coming up at Devanahalli.

Mr Yeddyurappa gave the assurance to CII Karnataka region members, who called on him.

CII Regional Chairman N Reghuraj told newspersons after meeting the Chief Minister that the CII had sought both short-term and long-term solution from the government for a proper connectivity to the International Airport which would become functional by March next year.

Mr Reghuraj said Mr Yeddyurappa had promised to convene a meeting of CEOs in the next few days.

While a long-term plan would take between five to eight years, as a short term measure, the CII wanted the government to strengthen the existing transportation and road facilities before March next year, he added.
