Airlifting of EVMs and other material from Nov 15: CEO

Shimla, Nov 13 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh's Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manisha Nanda today said airlifting of the electronic voting machines (EVMs) will be carried out from November 15 to 17, in case there is no re-poll.

In case of any re-polling, the airlifting of the EVMs would be done immediately after the polling, she said here.

Ms Nanda said all EVMs and other election material from Keylong and Kaza in Lahaul Spiti constituency would be airlifted to Kullu and similarly from Killar to Bharmaur for Bharmaur assembly constituency.

The EVMs and other statutory election material of Lahaul Spiti assembly constituency would be stored at Kullu General Post Office and counting of votes would take place in the same premises on December 28, she said.

The CEO said the EVMs and other election material of Pangi area of Bharmaur constituency would be stored at Room No 20 of Bharmaur Mini Secretariat.

The counting of votes would take place in the same premises on December 28, she added.
