Power units being set up to enhance power production in UP

Mathura, Nov 11 (UNI) With a view to enhancing the power production in Uttar Pradesh, a 500 megawatt power unit is being set up in Harduaganj power plant.

''Chief Minister Mayawati would lay the foundation stone of this power unit soon,'' UP energy minister Ramveer Upadhyay told newspersons here.

The CM would also lay the foundation stone of another 500 megawatt thermal power unit.

Besides, work of setting various power units with the help of private companies was underway in full-swing the Minister said.

While, work of Anpara C and Anpara D was on, formalities were being completed for Karchana, Meja and Bara power units in Allahabad, he added.
