Jagadguru Shankaracharya to lead ''Bhagwan Parshuram Yatra''

Thane, Nov 11 (UNI) The first ever ''Bhagwan Parshuram Yatra'', to be organised at Chiplun in Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra on the auspicious occasion of 'Lab Pancham' on November 15, has evoked tremendous response with several thousands of devotees from all over the country set to take part in it.

The Yatra, to be led by Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Kashi Sumeru peeth, will include a number of prominent persons who will proceed to Chiplun and later to the temple of Parshuram at village Parshuram.

The village of Parshuram, after a gap of 14 years, will be receiving the Jagadguru Shankaracharya. With just a couple of days left for the main event of performing pooja at the hands of the Shankaracharya, a number of religious leaders have already started arriving at Chiplun on way to Parshuram village on the top of the hills.

The temple authorities and trustees are keeping no stone unturned to make the event a grand success.

Mr Om Prakash Sharma, convenor of the Bhagwan Parshuram Sena, told UNI that even though this is the first yatra of its kind to Parshuram, a number of such yatras will follow, and will go on as long till the devotees want it.

Acharya Subash Sharma, Executive President of the Sena, said that Shankarachayas of other peeths in the country like Kanchi, Puri and Govardhan peeth would also lead other teams and take part in the yatra in the near future.

Meanwhile, Mr Nishikant Joshi, Chief Trustee of the temple trust, said the people of Parshuram were previleged to have the presence of the Dharamguru for the main event and they would be immensely honoured by by his presence.
