Large chache of ammunition recovered near Dalma

Jamshedpur, Nov 9 (UNI) Acting on a tip-off the East Singhbhum police have recovered a large cache of ammunition and explosives from a hideout of naxalites near Dalma hills here.

Superintendent of police Navin Kumar Singh said taking cue from an arrested rebel the district police team, CRPF and Jharkhand Armed Police(JAP)lauched a joint operation yesterday to unearth three quintals of explosives, 350 detonators, 30 live cartidges and other equiptments from a concrete bunker, constructed by the naxalites.

Mr Singh said the recovery, largest in the area, had foiled the Maoist rebels' plan to triger a massive offensive in the region alongside the Jharkhand and West Bengal border.

He said oflate the activities of the Maoists had increased in the area and the police team also destroyed a number of training camps of the ultras on Dalma hills recently and arrested some hard core naxalites.
