Journalists to observe National Press Day on November 16

Panaji, Nov 9 (UNI) The media fraternity in Goa will observe the National Press Day on November 16 with ''Media as Peoples' Voice- Pre and Post Independence'' as the theme of the year.

The day has been observed every year to conicide with the foundation day of the Press Council of India.

Chief Minister Digambar Kamat will inaugurate the celebrations at Kala Academy where an exhibition titled ''Press in Goa'' will be thrown open to the public at its Art Gallery.

The Department of Information and Publicity in collaboration with the Goa Editors's Guild and the Goa Union of Journalists, is organising the event.
