Diwali celebrated with religious fervour in MP
Bhopal, Nov 9 (UNI) Diwali, the festival of lights, is being celebrated across Madhya Pradesh with religious fervour and enthusiasm.
Since early morning, devotees made a beeline to temples. People worshipped Goddess Lakshmi and God Ganesh on the day for prosperity and good luck.
People greeted each other and exchanged gifts and sweets. Shops and houses were decorated with electronic lights. Fire crackers started bursting in the late evening.
People were seen arranging traditional earthen lamps 'diyas' outside their houses and putting 'Rangoli' on the floor.
Tight security arrangements were made in view of the festival. No untoward incident was reported.
