Hyderabad, Nov 9 (UNI) As part of the protracted 'Bhooporatam', demanding distribution of land for constructing houses for the poor, the CPI(M) activists today occupied lands belonging to Congress MLA Devineni Rajasekhar.

The party leaders performed 'Bhoomi Puja' before occupying the lands of the Kankipadu Legislator at posh Banjara Hills area.

The party leaders alleged that the government was handing over ''costly'' lands to Congress MLAs and leaders in violation of the registration rules and regulations.

The land at Banjara Hills had been registered in the names of Mr Rajasekhar's supporters, triggering a debate in the Winter Session of the Andhara Pfradesh Assembly.

Another congress MLA from Krishna district V Radhakrishnahad resigned over the matter, demanding that the government must recover the lands from Mr Rajasekhar and cancel the registration.
