BSF jawan dies in Jammu

Jammu, Nov 9 (UNI) A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan died here today after consuming some tea mixed with intoxicants, official sources said.

The deceased identified as Joginder Singh, resident of Himachal Pradesh, was travelling to Pathankot to celebrate Diwali festival in his hometown, the sources said.

''While he was on his way from Delhi, he was offered intoxicant mixed tea by some people after developing friendship with him and then looted his cash and belongings,'' the sources told UNI.

The victim fell unconscious and instead of alighting at Pathankot he came to Katra while police shifted him to Community Health Centre (CHC) Katra from where he was referred to the GMC hospital.

''The deceased was admitted on Wednesday at the Government Medical College Hospital, Jammu, where his condition deteriorated and he died today, the sources said.

Meanwhile the body after postmortem was handed over to the family members and a case has been registered in this connection at Police Station Katra.
