Another woman commits suicide in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 9 (UNI) Yet another woman in the Kashmir valley today committed suicide even after the Muslim Ulmas have declared the practice as unislamic.

Official sources said Dilshada wife of Mohammad Ayub Para consumed some poisonous substance in her house at village Vaiva Kunzer in Baramulla district this morning.

She was immediately rushed to the SMHS hospital where she died.

Despite fatwa by the Muslim Ulmas, including Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Bashir-Ud-din against committing suicides, the number of such incidents has increased.

Family dispute, failure in love and examination are some of the main reasons behind taking such extreme steps by the people, mostly women in Kashmir.

However, the trend to commit suicide among the security forces has also not decreased even after introduction of Yoga and art of living to help them to come out from the stress in the state.

A number of security forces, engaged in counter-insurgency, killed their colleagues in the valley during the past two years.
