Spriha Murarka's husband Tarapada stabbed in Midnapore

Pataspur, Nov 8 (UNI) Within a few hours after Priyanka Todi's cousin Spriha Murarka's secret statement before the court that she was befooled by her husband Tarapada Hazra, the latter was stabbed by some armed assailants at Chakbhabani village under Pataspur Police Station today.

After Spriha made the deposed before the Salt Lake Court Judge Krishna Murari Prasad Gupta, Sub-divisional Officer (SDO), Egra, Sanjoy Bose said the miscreants broke open Tarapada's house with heavy wooden butts while he was asleep, beat him up and then stabbed him.

He was admitted to Contai Hospital with multiple injuries, the SDO added.

'' Due to a scuffle with the miscreants, they failed to inflict serious injuries on me. I cried and ran out for help. The miscreants fled away hurling bombs. '' Tarapada said.

Trapada was a driver employed by Ashok Todi's brother-in-law Santosh Murarka.

Earlier, Tarapada submitted his complaint against Priyanka's father Ashok Todi and Santose Murarka in Salt Lake North police station on Monday, stating that they brought Spriha to Pataspur police station from his house by applying force on May one last.

Since then they had kept his wife under confinement, Tarapada alleged.

On the basis of the allegation, a case of kidnapping and abduction was instituted against the Todis. Tarapada was interrogated under this case on Wednesday.

The SDO said he had ordered an inquiry into today's incident.
