Siemens aims to double India sales in 3 yrs-paper

FRANKFURT, Nov 7 (Reuters) Siemens aims to double its sales in India in three years, its chief executive told German newspaper Handelsblatt.

''I have never seen India so dynamic,'' Peter Loescher said after a recent visit to the country. The newspaper released the story in advance of publication on Thursday.

Loescher said India was ''a key part of the company's global growth strategy, on par with China''.

In the 2006/07 financial year, pretax profit at Siemens' Indian unit rose 30 percent to 103 million euros (1 million) on the back of a 66 percent rise in sales to around 1 billion euros, the paper said.
