People still suffering from fever-related diseases in N 24 Parganas

Barasat, Nov 8 (UNI) While people in North 24 Parganas gear up to celebrate the festival of lights, more than 1.5 lakh people are still suffering from different types of fever, including Chikungunia, which claimed 10 lives during the last three months.

Chief Medical Office(Health) Dr Kusum Kunar Adhikary here today said Gaighata area has been the worst-affected, with at least 35 per cent of nearly 44,000 inhabitants suffering from deadly diseases like chikungunia. He also added that more than 40,000 people were suffering from Chikungunia in the district.
