NRI woman sustains bullet injury in Punjab
Hoshiarpur, Nov 8 (UNI) A Non-Resident Indian (NRI) woman was allegedly shot at and injured by her brother-in-law in Moranwali village today following a land dispute, police here stated.
According to official reports, Mohinder Kaur sustained a bullet injury when her brother-in-law Darshan Singh fired at her from a revolver at her residence after a quarrel. Her NRI husband Jagtar Singh was also present in the house at the time of the incident.
Mohinder Kaur and her husband, had come from England to their ancestral village, Moranwali on November one. Her NRI brother-in-law Darshan Singh, who also resides in England also reached the village on the same day.
The two NRI brothers were involved in a dispute over the sharing of their ancestral property. Mohinder Kaur was admitted to the Civil Hospital, Garhshankar, where her condition was stated to be under control.
The police has registered a case against Darshan Singh, who absconded after commiting the crime.
