Diwali bonus announced for Power sector employees in Delhi

New Delhi, Nov 8: Delhi Power and Finance Minister A K Walia today announced a Diwali bonus of Rs 5100 for employees of three power companies of the capital--Delhi Transco Limited, Pragati Power Corporation Limited and Indraprastha Gas Corporation Limited.

Each employee would be getting the cash incentive on the eve of Diwali.

Dr Walia while appreciating remarkable achievement of DTL stated that it has been able to achieve target because of dedicated and sincere efforts of employees.

The transmission losses has been brought down from 3.84 percent in 2002-03 to 0.72 percent in 2006-07 resulting in a profit of Rs 168 crore.

He further stated that PPCL has recorded profit of about Rs 118 crore during 2006-07 and has paid Rs 21.97 crore as dividend to Delhi Government.

The representatives of employees were assured that a reasonable amount will be distributed among the employees keeping in view their performance.
