Asian Film Festival holds 'Competition of Short Films'

Mumbai, Nov 8 (UNI) The Third Eye 6th Asian Film Festival, going on at three different venues across the city, held a 'Competition of Short Films' today wherein more than 30 films were showcased.

Some of the films that were screened include ''Dead End'', ''Road Marks'', ''On The Same Floor'', ''Shum'', ''Haim Was Here'', ''A Man In Love'', ''Romantic Comedy'', ''The Mansion'', ''Dharini'', ''Fonzi'' and ''Awaiting A Train''.

''Awaiting A Train'' is a short film based on a child living in a war-like environment. The child, who has lost his father, lives with his mother in a war stricken house. There has been no train journey to the North for the last 20 years because of the war.

Film Experts said, ''The train has been used as a symbol of civilian life within the film. The film depicts the fate of the children and the Tamil community in the North and in the East, who plead for their existence. The film had won the 'Best Short Film' award at the National Short Film Festival 2006 held in Sri Lanka.
