Senior BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu who was part of the delegation which met President Pratibha Patil yesterday said the party exercised all its options available including parading the MLAs before Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur.
A party delegation had met Prime Minister and Home Minister in support of the demand. The party had approached the President when there was no response from Governor or Union Government. ''It is only reasonable that she be allowed reasonable time. There is a scheduled meeting of Union Cabinet tomorrow and if it doesn't undo the damage and revive the Assembly, the party can always opt for its next option (meaning preferring to approach judicial remedy) but declined to specify. '' Yesterday, 125 Karnataka BJP and JD (S) MLAs led by their respective Legislative Party leaders B S Yediyurappa and H D Kumaraswamy had met the President, demanding removal of suspended animation status of Karnataka Assembly. Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur who also met Mrs Patil after the delegation later said he had submitted his final report to the government and the ball was in the Centre's court.
