Guwahati, Nov 6 (UNI) The All Assam Tea Tribe Students' Association (AATTSA) today called off its indefinite oil blockade in Assam's Dibrugarh district after the Deputy Commissioner (DC) invited them for discussion to resolve their demands.

The AATTSA had called for blockade in Oil India Limited's (OIL) Dikow collecting station, about 15 km from Dibrugarh town, against the non-recruitment of tea tribe youths by the oil giant and neglect of infrastructural development projects in the adjoining areas.

The students' body had started the blockade from yesterday , affecting work in the collecting station.

The blockade was finally called off today when the DC assured the AATTSA of looking into their grievances. The AATTSA leadership has also been invited by the DC for talks at a later date.
