Hindu outfits agitate against temple demolition in Malaysia

Chennai, Nov 6 (UNI) More than 25 workers of the BJP and Hindu outfits like the Hindu Munnani were arrested when they staged a demonstration in front of the Malaysian Consulate, condemning the alleged demolition of some temples in that country.

The agitation was led by BJP leader Pon Radhakrishnan and Hindu Munnani leader Rama Gopalan.

All the arrested were, however, released later.

BJP State President L Ganesan, who met the arrested leaders, later told reporters that the Centre was maintaining a ''stoic silence'' on the alleged attacks on Hindus in some countries like Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

The Centre had not shown even one per cent interest on Hindus, compared to the way it handled the Haneef Mohammed case, he added.
