Six awarded life imprisonment for killing couple

Sangrur, Nov 5 (UNI) A local court today sent six people behind bars for life in a five-year-old robbery-cum double murder case.

Additional Session Judge BS Malwai found the six accused identified as Harish Kumar, Jaggu, Vijay Kumar, Darshan Singh, Rameshwar and Jaspal Singh guilty of killing a local financier Madan Lal and his wife Sneh lata of Pratab Nagar.

According to the prosecution, the six accused broke into the house of Madan Lal with an intention of robbery on April 17, 2002.

However, they brutally killed the couple who resisted their robbery attempt.
