CBI files chargesheet against Ashok Malhotra, DDA officials

New Delhi, Nov 5 (UNI) The CBI today filed chargesheets against Ashok Malhotra, Lal Mani and six other DDA officials in the multi-crore Dhirpur resettlement colony scam.

The chargesheet was filed under section 120 (B) for criminal conspiracy, cheating, using forged documents as geniune and under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Besides Malhotra, other DDA officials chargesheeted include K S Verma, J R Gaur, A K Mishra, Shyam Babu, Sunil Kumar Sharma, Ajay Kumar Sharma and his associate Lal Mani.

Malhotra was arrested on August 6 from Noida. The CBI stated in the chargesheet that Malhotra, with the help of his associate Lal Mani, had got forged documents and ration cards prepared in the name of allotees of the resettlement colony.

The CBI is yet to file the documents related to the case in the court.

Meanwhile, the court has fixed November 7 for the consideration of the chargesheet.

Many DDA officials who stand accused in the case have not been arrested by the CBI.

UNI
