Kannur, Nov 4 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly Oommen Chandy today alleged that the state police was acting in a ''unilateral manner'' in tune with the ruling CPI(M)'s directions.

Talking to newspersons, after visiting the Congress office at Thottada near here, which was allegedly vandalised by a group of CPI(M) activists, he charged the police were framing ''false'' charges against members of the rival political parties on slightest pretext, acting as per the direct instructions of the CPI(M) leadership. This will lead to anarchy, he added.

Mr Chandy said the tragic death of a police official during the ABVP-SFI clash in a Changanassery college recently had exposed the inability of the police to act on time to contain the tense situation in the Institution.
